Marketing Director, Trade activation and brand innovation

The Marketing Director will lead evian’s innovation in North America and trade activation for all channels for evian, Badoit and Volvic.  This position will be responsible for developing the go-to-market strategy and trade activation calendar in collaboration with the sales team and key distributor partners to ensure our brands have best in class in-store visibility. Additionally, the Marketing Director will lead evian’s innovation pipeline in North America, bringing local market and consumer insights and working closely with evian’s global teams to ensure successful commercialization in North America.


Key Responsibilities Trade Activation:

  • Develop and lead the Trade Activation strategy, calendar and planning for all channels
  • Lead and track execution of key trade activations
  • Establish strong relationships with key external partners, especially distributors, and influence them to get the most effective plans and execution for our brands.
  • Establish strong relationships internally especially with sales, finance and supply chain to ensure trade activation buy in and best-in-class execution
  • Lead, develop and execute Shopper Marketing programming for all top accounts in all channels together with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver Display and promotion objectives and KPIs  
  • Deliver Trade Activation creative, communication and toolkits (e.g. key visuals, claims, POS materials, e-commerce toolkits, etc.)  for all retail channels and all shopper media channels.


Key Responsibilities Brand Innovation:

  • Develop disruptive innovation pipeline for evian in North America together with Global Danone teams in Paris
  • Develop and deliver commercialization/renovation projects (i.e. packaging, retail-specific innovation, etc.)
  • Is the expert on the local consumer and market and provides those insights to the global teams to jointly develop winning innovation concepts.
  • Leads the local product development process and develops the business case to assess market potential.
  • Lead innovation projects through the product & packaging development process (Stage Gate – Project Management)
  • Partners with other functional areas to commercialize innovation to bring high incrementality to the business
  • Delivers product innovation P&Ls in line with internal margin targets



Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor degree, MBA a plus
  • 8+ years of progressive CPG experience with a combination of HQ customer-facing sales and/or trade marketing (marketing experience a plus)
  • Strong, proven leadership skills with an entrepreneurial and solution-focused mindset
  • Analytical skills (ability to look into a set of data and draw the right conclusions and actionable recommendations)
  • U.S. Retail (Mass, Grocery and Convenience) and Distributor knowledge  
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with IRI/Nielsen databases and metrics
  • Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
