Mission:
As an integral team member supporting the Company's business priorities, reporting to VP of Marketing and dotted line to the Director of Sustainable Development NORAM, this position is focused on:
i. Operating as the DWA subject matter expert on Sustainability from source to end life of the product.
ii. Activating evian as a "meaningful brand"

Position Dimension:
Sustainable development encompasses DWA's societal and environmental priorities within US & Canada. As such, sustainable development activities span a broad scope from:
- the environmental and societal impacts of sourcing, manufacturing through to disposing of the products and services it offers to customers and consumers
- the evian export model, understanding from source to plant to US territory
- engaging stakeholders & commercial partners pre and during meaningful brand activation
Role responsibililty and Deliverables
1. In alignment with Danoneand evian's global priorities, operate as an internal subject matter expert and strategic advisor for Danone Waters of America on the following topics ,
i. Define and activate evian NORAM sustainability roadmap
ii. Understand Non-Alcoholic Beverages Competitive Landscape and stay up to speed on current trends and tracking
iii. Develop all support materials (e.g. PPTs, talking points, etc) as relate to KOLs, PR, Sales, Retail and On-premise
iv. Connect and work in collaboration with Evian Volvic Worldwide , DWA marketing, local Legal DWA counterpart, and Director Sustainable Development DanoneWave, to get approval of any and all claims (sustainability)
v. Understand DWA global claims - and applicability to U.S. - establish needed supporting documentation
vi. Lead relationship with local NGOs...
vii. Collaborate with NORAM Internal employee communications and engagement
viii. In conjunction with internal and/or external communications, develop copy for materials which communicate environmental and community related themes to the public and trade.
ix. Support marketing material development and communication vehicles/tools(including website)
x. Travel to France Travel (3 x year) to meet with Evian Volvic Worldwide re sustainability and Danone in general. Specific travel includes: February- DWA Yearly Convention and Fall field immersion to - take clients to the source
2. Advance the education, integration, and activation of Sustainable Development within DWA Topline teams (brands and customers) by:
i. Educating Danone NORAM Sales teams on above noted Sustainable Development topics
ii. Collaborating with Danone NORAM Sales teams to:
i. Penetrate retailers through "top to top" meetings
ii. Seek out Sustainable Development Departments within Danone NORAM retailers to align on how to make the SD efforts top of mind and meaningful to the retailers' shoppers.
iii. Educating Environmental Bloggers and You Tubers etc who have high influence and a strong amount of followers. Gain endorsements and support for our initiatives with their followers
iv. Connecting with highly influential universities such as U.C. Berkeley, Stanford, etc to share what we are doing and collaborate on how to share our journey with consumers.
v. Attending Sustainable Development-focused fairs, events, conferences and host booths/tables to explain broader SD strategy, goals, impacts, and practices.
vi. Sharing/Activating with/within Danone NORAM internally how to make SD (e.g. zero waste) come to life within our communities/for our stakeholders
3. Other:
i. Co-support (with Lifecycle Sustainability Manager) external requests including: Climate Change Challenge, CDP requests, packaging reporting, B-Corp, customer sustainable development survey responses.
ii. Sustainable Development-related Conferences

Candidate Profile / Experience
• Mandatory expertise in sustainable development thematic areas (with particular emphasis on SD practices at source, consumption, reuse/circular economy). Successful experience within sustainable development in a large food/raw commodity company or leadership experience in applicable non-for-profit or industry organization.
• Bachelor's degree in field of natural resources, environment and/or business or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred.
• Demonstrated 5+ years of professional work experience.
• Strong analytical skills, strategic and critical thinking skills, and able to shift easily between strategic and tactical roles.
• Experience leading and managing work of cross-functional teams to deliver accurate results on time.
• Able to plan, track, analyze and communicate financial and performance data to inform business decisions
• Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with coordinating environmental and/or community related engagements (either directly with business and/or with consultant or Key Opinion Leader.
• Ability to gain support from diverse stakeholders for initiatives.
• Strong writing, research and verbal skills.
• Strong computer application skills, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Ability to develop a project concept, prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints with minimal guidance.
• Well organized, detail oriented and high level of self-motivation.
• Ability to analyze, reason, problem solve and make things happen.
• Extensive understanding of global and social and environmental issues.
