Key Responsibilities:
- Position Danone as a leading nutritional company and B Corp, committed to doing good across entire supply chain, and beyond
- Lead the development and execution of Danone North America’s corporate communication, with a focus on external audiences.
- Support the development and management of the company’s overall reputation strategy, working closely with the VP, Communications
- Partner with internal comms and social media / digital leads to ensure cohesive strategy and drive consistent messaging and storytelling across audiences
- Build and lead the company’s cross-functional Reputation Project Management Office
- Oversee and manage the company reputation calendar for internal and external audiences, working closely with the brand teams to ensure alignment, focusing on corporate storytelling and reputation building and ensuring 360-degree stakeholder engagement
- Support the VP, Communications with the creation and management of Danone North America Reputation Council
- Co-lead storytelling and ideation for Danone North America, partnering closely with Brand Communications, to deliver our “One Planet. One Health” narrative in an effective and engaging manner
- Partner with digital lead to maintain and enhance external company digital platforms
- Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key national, regional and trade reporters.
- Develop and pitch proactive stories to bring our “One Planet. One Health” narrative to life externally
- Serve as a company spokesperson, as needed.
- Provide support to select senior leaders, managing their internal and external communications planning.
- Lead external communications support for the government affairs / policy team and provide support with industry groups, as appropriate.
- Maintain and update central company messaging document
- Build strong relationships with global communications colleagues, ensuring alignment as appropriate
- Serve as the day-to-day team lead with external corporate communications agency/ies
Protect
- Manage issues-related communications / support with confidential communications
- Work closely with crisis lead to ensure crisis readiness (including annual simulation) and share best practices
- Own “Hot Topics” section of company messaging document
Candidate Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required with preference for degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communication or a related field.
- Ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of business experience, with increasing responsibility, and a proven track record of success in corporate communication, public relations, issues management, internal and external communications (in either in a corporate or agency setting).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills from concept to completion, including message development, understanding of key stakeholders, and the creation, editing and tailoring of compelling communications for a variety of channels, including traditional and social/new media.
- A background in the food, retail or consumer package goods industry is a strong plus. Experience with manufacturing-based companies and/or companies with geographically and functionally diverse operations are beneficial.
