Product Supply Analyst II - EBF

Danone North America is looking for a Product Supply Analyst II in San Juan Butista.


The position is responsible for ordering organic baby greens across EBF’s supplier base of internal and external growers. Department orders >$1MM/week of raw organic baby greens with short usable lives, typically 21 days and fewer. Significant complexity exists because of variability in raw material availability, differences between quantities forecasted available in the days/week before harvest and actual quantity harvested, grades of quality, uncertainty in customer demand, and variability in manufacturing/packout volumes. In periods where EBF’s supply base lacks sufficient baby greens to support demand, this position collaborates with other teams to source materials from open/ spot market, taking into account quality, price, and competitive factors. 

The position starts with firm numbers for supply and demand that are never realized, thus has to make numerous on-the-fly adjustments, using judgment, as millions of short-lived materials flow from field to raw product storage to packout to customers.


  • Position represents team in cross functional meetings to develop new processes and new product
  • Position constant looks for opportunities for continuous improvement, reduce waste and develops excel tools for day-day activities
  • Position observes and learns about variability in demand and supply and chooses production strategies and inventory levels that consistently deliver case fill targets and waste targets
  • Position collaborates across functions to build the relationships and communication flow so position is aware of changes that affect ability to deliver service & waste results (supplier readiness, demand, raw supply, or FG production/inventory outlook)
  • Position participates in cross functional process development and identifies the Product Supply options that are available to meet commercial and cost objectives.
  • Positions receives raw requirements for manufacturing from Product Supply Analyst and harvests products to support those requirements, inclusive of starting raw baby green inventories
  • Ordering needs to produce inventory levels that enable manufacturing/pack-out of raw product into finished goods without breaks while keeping inventory lean so as to not expire
    • Own & drive baby green scrap results through coordination / managing Raw receiving, quality, manufacturing, FG scheduling, harvest managers
  • Participate in continuous improvement among the people who provide the demand inputs (FG)/requirements (baby greens, NP materials/packaging) , who execute the production (suppliers/manufacturing) – plan, do, check/measure, adjust -> repeat
    • Analyst IIs expected to be capable of facilitating a group in process improvement
  • Own investigation and resolution of all direct parked/blocked invoices within established workflow timelines.
  • Manage sales order creation and shipment of ingredients needed by co-packers.
  • Position is on call 24 hours a day, including weekends, in the event that emergencies occur
  • Is Data Owner for assigned SAP Master Data elements and provides Master Data on time vs deadlines


Preferred Candidate Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • College graduate/equivalent experience (5 years)  +2-4 years work experience
  • Agriculture Supply Chain experience required in growing, planning, purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, or quality
  • Excellent oral communication skills (to all levels)
  • Analytical skills are needed to analyze requirements, diagnose drivers of defects/failures, and propose solutions.
  • Need to be strong users of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analyst IIs are expected to perform independent, accurate quantitative analyses, given goal or problem statement, that arrive at actionable conclusions. Analyst IIs should be able to do analyses for problems not previously experienced.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must enjoy heavy communication and be proficient in managing high volume of input across all mediums (e-mails, text messages, voice calls/voice mails)
  • Must be diligent – inaccuracy / sloppiness creates millions of waste dollars per year
  • Must be flexible and enjoy working in a constantly fluid environment – plans are developed and change constantly, never fully solidifying and working with others with varying communication styles, preferences, etc.
  • Must be steady, dependable, and disciplined
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish
