Danone North America is looking for a Trade Marketing Manager in San Juan Bautista.

Position Summary

The Trade Marketing Manager will work in collaborate with the Marketing and Regional Sales team to develop, implement and execute channel specific trade strategies and manage the budget for these types of promotions.  Working in concert with Marketing, Category Management, Sales and Finance, the Trade Marketing Manager will evaluate the effectiveness of the promotion and efficiencies of trade spending.  The Trade Marketing Manager works with the Regional Sales Team, Customer Service Team and Broker team to support Sales related needs related to trade promotions, Marketing Development Fund and New Product Launches.  The Trade Marketing Manager also supports innovation and commercialization through trial and awareness building programs and presentations.  Some travel required, approximately 10%.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotional spending by channel or region.  Develop reports to share out with organization to effectively communicate successes and opportunities.
  2. Provide pre and post promotional trade spending analysis, ROI and recommendations for future promotions
  3. Implement and execute guidelines for trade spending, including both trade promotions and non-volume building activities with Sales Planning, Sales Finance, Regional Sales and Marketing.  Track implementation of the guidelines and ensure delivery of expectations.
  4. Manage RFP process with regional sales team.  Ensure teams are delivering all relevant content, pricing and programs to develop winning bids.  
  5. Work with Innovation team to develop new product sell in targets and budgets.  Manage the new product forecasting process with Demand Planning and S&OP team. 
  6. Develop and implement new product sell in plans across national and customer specific platforms.
  7. Oversee development of analyses, reports, templates, and tools in support of both marketing and sales teams
  8. Manage marketing communications and updates with broker network.
  9. Develop and implement national and customer specific marketing programs


Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in produce field Sales or related functions, including broker management, direct customer selling experience, Category Management or Shopper Marketing


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong business acumen with attention to numbers and budget management
  • Experience working with syndicated data sources (IRI/Nielsen)
  • Able to manage complexity and multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with P&L and other financial KPI
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills
  • Works well in ambiguity
