Danone North America is looking for a Safety Technician in San Juan Bautista.

 

 

Description:

Providing loss prevention techniques to reduce and mitigate all types of possible incidents and illness from occurring or reoccurring as a member of EH&S Dept. by performing the following duties.


The Safety Technician position will assist in the development, implementation and sustainment of EH&S programs to ensure the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors; protect the environment, and maintain compliance with all State, Federal and local regulations for our multiple locations.


The Safety Technician will assist in driving a behavior-based safety culture characterized by Accountability, Commitment and Teamwork.

 


Essential Duties and responsibilities included but not limited to the following:

• Must be able to work any assigned shift
• Must be reliable and have excellent attendance
• Complete daily floor inspections/observations in all departments
• Establish a schedule with all department managers/supervisors for involvement when conducting an observation
• Follow up with corrective action, and work orders when applicable
• Communicate all safety concerns to Sr. EH&S WORK COMP. SPECIALIST
• Monitors a two- way radio and responds to instructions from the management team
• Respond to incidents and follows protocol on incident reporting procedures
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury or magnitude of catastrophe to establish first aid producers to be followed or need for additional assistance basing decisions on statements of persons involved, examination of injured employees and knowledge of emergency medical practices
• Administers first aid treatment at site of emergency or in the Safety trailer performing such activities as application of splints treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, burns or administration of artificial resuscitation to include defibrillation and call 911 if needed.
• Assists treatment at Safety trailer treating personnel, obtain and record information related to employees status and circumstances of emergency
• Assist EH&S Dept. with Safety assignments & job hazard analysis dept. specific
• Document and report all safety hazards
• Maintain inventory of first aid supplies, inspect Defibrillators and 1st aid cabinets through out facility.
• Document and report chemical inventory of all chemicals onsite
• Ensure all safety data sheet binders are up to date
• Enforce OSHA Satet Federal regulations to include EBF safety policies and procedures
• Report all incidents and or illness to Safety Dept./to include Management Team
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
• Other duties that may be assigned

 


Additional duties and responsibilities:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Overtime, weekend and holiday work, as required
• Must be able to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach above and below shoulders. Repetitive use of hands
• Must be reliable and be able to work with minimum supervision
• Must become familiar with the company’s emergency protocols
• Must be professional, dependable, respectable, assertive, supportive and well organized

 

 

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma, 1 year experience as an EMT, Medical Assistant, First Aid/CPR.

 

 

Language Skills:
Must be able to read,write and speak English. (Bilingual preferred)
