Danone North America is looking for a Logistics Specialist 1 in San Juan Bautista.


Job Description Summary:


Under the general guidance of the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Specialist serves as an interface and
coordinator between in-house and outside warehouse operations, Distribution Management & third party transportation contractors. This position is responsible for oversight and coordination of inbound
and outbound logistics operations, monitoring product inventory levels in-house and at outside
warehouse locations and maintaining and auditing process documentation. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts required.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares and retains process documentation and reports pertaining to inventory and warehouse
o Prepares and maintains shipping documents. Distributes documents to a variety of
stakeholders including Customs, internal and external storage facilities, transportation
vendors and inspectors.
o Assigns freight purchase orders (PO’s) and collects/verifies manifests in accordance
with established Company policies.
o Reconciles, approves and processes invoices.
o Maintains, assesses and distributes carrier and customer performance metrics.
• Coordinates and monitors inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation,
warehouse activities, safety performance, and quality management:
o Monitors and directs product transfers from origin to final delivery.
o Issues shipping instructions and provides routing information for Delivered Sales orders
and transfers.
o Establishes and coordinates load times, delivery times and delivery locations for
inbound/outbound trucks. Executes daily dispatch of third party transportation fleet.
o Schedules and coordinates cross docking and freight for import containers.
• Inventory Management:
o Monitors and reports on product inventory levels at outside warehouse locations via
computer-based Warehouse Management System (WMS).
o Ensures timely, accurate receipt of inbound shipments
o Executes daily inventory adjustments; prepares re-pack/adjustment reports and
monthly inventory reports.
o Coordinates set up of SKUs.
o Maintains a working knowledge of packaging inventories at warehouse locations.
Partners with Purchasing staff to replenish as needed.
o Develops scheduling and forecasting plans in conjunction with Purchasing, Supply and
o Works with external suppliers and/or packing facilities on daily pack-out schedules,
future forecasts and target inventory levels.
o Responds to all customer and warehouse inquiries and requests regarding load and
delivery times in addition to any delays or issues
o Tracks, monitors and reports carrier performance.
o Establishes performance measurement criteria and metrics/measures.
o Responds to after hours calls and emergencies.


• Transportation & Logistics - Knowledge of principles and methods for transporting goods

• Communication Skills - Bilingual English/Spanish language skills required. Must be able to read,
write, and speak fluently in both languages

Knowledge of the structure and content of the Spanish language including the meaning and
spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, and pronunciation.


Education: High School Education required, College degree preferred.
Experience: Four to six years related Distribution, Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
