The Global Corporate Communications Senior Manager will report to the Global Head of External Communications, with a mandate to:

a) improve our corporate reputation and make Danone better known to its key stakeholders including investors, NGOs, influencers and consumers, to keep ensuring support for our businesses license to operate and grow;
b) maximize impact and reach of communications initiatives, supporting our business and brands,
c) position Danone and its CEO, as well as its executive leadership team (including DELT) as a thought leader in creating sustainable value for shareholders and all stakeholders
d) ensure strong consistency of content and messages across the geographies
e) develop best-in-class issues management and crisis communications throughout the global organization
f) function as internal consultant to positively contribute to upgrading the senior executives' communication competencies and upskilling the business, crisis comms and social/digital media capabilities throughout the global organization.


• Contribute to developing the external communications strategy of Danone and manage global communications projects, as part of the Global external communications team : Implement and adapt communications plan according to business agenda ; Project-manage the communications agenda and co-develop the yearly corporate communications plan.
• Project-manage executive communications opportunities, incl. the preparation of high-profile public speaking opportunities, media engagements/interviews, stakeholder events.
• Manage key corporate communications files in the following scope of themes: 2030 Goals and One Person One Voice One Share program; B Corp; Sustainability, Nature; Pledges; Waters division related strategic comms files; Social innovation funds; Company brand;  Corporate publications;

• Project-manage crisis situations whenever needs dictate and provide support to local teams on strategic communications issues.
• Work on a program of media trainings and conduct regular training sessions for the company's spokespeople.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of a junior member of the Global External Communications team, which includes:

  Analyze weak-signals, identify issues and opportunities to leverage communications as a support to license-to-operate and license-to-grow strategies ;

  Proactively develop story-angles and news hooks to generate media coverage and positive conversations
  Prepare and update external communications tools: holding statements, Q&A's, position papers, presentations, etc.
  Co-supervise with Comms Managers the daily international FMCG focused media monitoring sent to the company's executive leaders.
  Contribute to the Annual Social Report and the Integrated Report of Danone ; to the company website content development and social networks activation, including overseeing the integrated proactive editorial calendar.
  Oversee the development of corporate communications documents (Corporate presentation, corporate narratives...)
• Provide communications support/advice to local management and communication contacts, in accordance with the Global Communications Guidelines and Disclosure Manual (Coordination with communication contacts in key markets of Danone, including Africa, LATAM and ASPAME but also in the Waters division & other experts (alimentation, sustainability, social innovation funds, Cycles, marketing, etc.)
• Manage a Global Corporate Communications Officer as direct report.
• Ensure proper budget management, including budget coordination of PR agencies and communications suppliers.


- Master degree - preferably in Communication, Languages, Journalism or Marketing OR Similar experience
- Solid business acumen through education and/or experience
- 8-10 in a PR or external communications role (agency or in-house - preferably within FMCG)
- Managing projects including communications and public affairs issues
- First experience in management

Technical competencies:
- Dual culture in corporate environment and digital/social media planning and activation
- Strong communicator and creative mindset. Ability to think out of the box
- Excellent writer
- Fluent English and French (written and spoken). Spanish is a nice to have
- Business-savvy and appetite for general and business news
- Excellent knowledge of the French and international media environment
- Good knowledge of the French and international institutional & political environment
- Some legal knowledge with a focus on nutrition is a nice to have
- Good analytical skills
- Reliable and able to manage confidential information
- Proactive mindset
