JOB SUMMARY:  

Happy Family Organics is looking for a Senior Financial Planning Manager in our New York City office who will play a key role in Business Performance in Happy Family by implementing initiatives to ensure finance performance animation. This person will be expected to bring visibility and transparency in the actual results as well as forecasting, increase efficiency in analysis and reporting, and facilitate the discussion platform and strategic alignment between Finance and the rest of the company. In this role, s/he will also ensure financial analysis as well as management reporting on financial matters on an ad-hoc and regular basis within the monthly forecast cycle, handle requests from the Executive Management Team, and contribute to optimal decision-making within the company. The position is a key link between operations, innovation, accounting & forecasting.

The Senior Financial Planning Manager should be able to deal with dualities: s/he should on the one hand, be the business partner and on the other hand be the financial consciousness of Happy Family. S/he should challenge and build strong relationships with all internal teams. From this position, our candidate would lead directly (2) Topline & HOO/Cash controllers, and coach, challenge & develop them to their highest potential.

In this role you will:  

  • Provide support to the CFO (& rest of Finance Team, as their main contact point) & the CEO in understanding and monitoring the financial performance
    • Provide strong ad hoc financial and business analytic decision support on numerous innovation projects, revenue or cost-saving initiatives, return on investment analyses and/or other assigned projects.
    • Perform variance analysis, analyze financial results versus budget/forecast, and provide commentary that helps identify performance drivers and root causes of variances to objectives on a monthly basis.
    • Develop, execute and effectively communicate significant analyses & reports that identify meaningful trends and opportunities across the business. Leverage tools and systems to quickly access data and present meaningful, concise information to various levels of management.
  • Support the company’s Planning process in the spirit of Beyond Budget (Strat Plan, Rolling FCST, Actuals)
    • Monitor the rolling forecast execution and financial performance targets CO/ROP/Capex/WoCap/FCF
    • Effectively and efficiently follows up on deviations and initiates action to fill the gaps vs Target, in a proactive way
    • Actively participate & continuously improve the internal and external monthly forecasts & annual budget, in cooperation with all departments
  • Provide support during the Innovation process, coordinate with Business Development, Sales, R&D and Operations. Lead and facilitate preparations for business cases.
  • Manage internal stakeholders within Happy Family (all locations), as well as the region & division (EU & North America)
  • Educate & support the department heads, in understanding & managing their expenses
  • Animate Cash Flow performance & KPIs, train/educate on how to affect cash positively through all positions/depts.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value, in cooperation with the other finance team members.
  • Propose new tools and/or new processes that can help improve monitoring, transparency, reporting and performance.
  • Manage and develop the other members of the Financial Analysis team & more

 

This position reports directly to the CFO, manages a team of 4 people (current & growing) – of which, manages directly two (2) colleagues: Senior Financial Analysts (Topline & HOO/Cash).

About you:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, MBA, MSe or CPA preferred
  • You possess a minimum of 8-10 years of controlling experience preferably in a multinational FMCG context; previous exposure to operations / manufacturing controlling is considered beneficial e.g. factory controller
  • You possess ERP Systems experience (SAP preferred)
  • You have expert Excel skills (model development, Pivot Tables, function/formula understanding) and Power point skills
  • You have the ability to balance between Finance view and Business view
  • You have the ability to manage numerous high complexity projects and set proper priorities
  • You possess the ability to formulate a view, get buy-in, and drive the implementation
  • You are flexible and adaptable to different situations. You have a passion for delivering actionable insights
  • You possess a systematic way of thinking and good analytical skills. You can deal with big data sets, and can and will perform analysis on the lowest detail level if needed
  • You have the ability to work autonomously, perform well under pressure, and manage change effectively
  • You have the ability to challenge the status quo, take initiative and generate breakthrough ideas
  • You possess an appreciation of different opinions
  • You have a positive energy, are a fast learner and a team player. You are also committed, resilient and show an interest in learning and sharing with others.
