Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager

Role and responsibilities

  • Support Head of RA to formulate, communicates and executes immediate and long term regulatory goals and strategies to support the Singapore CBU team on marketing and sales of products;

 

  • To give COE and regulatory advice and updates to colleagues from the Marketing, Healthcare Nutrition, Sales and Supply Point to support execution of marketing and sales campaigns and marketing of products that are in compliance with Sale of Infant Foods Ethics Committee of Singapore (SIFECS) Code of Ethics (COE), Sales of Foos Act (Chapter 283, Section 56 (1)) food regulation, Malaysia Code of Ethics for the marketing of infant foods and related products, Malaysia Food Act 1983 and Food regulation 1985  and advertising guidelines.
  • Be the Singapore CBU BMS Category Compliance Manager.

 

  • Help to create and maintain compliance culture to local laws and regulation to support marketing and sales of product in 2 CBUs.

 

  • Trains relevant stakeholders in 2 CBUs to increase their knowledge and enable execution of activities that are in compliance with Sale of Infant Foods Ethics Committee of Singapore (SIFECS) Code of Ethics (COE), Sales of Foos Act (Chapter 283, Section 56 (1)) food regulation, Malaysia Code of Ethics for the marketing of infant foods and related products, Malaysia Food Act 1983 and Food regulation 1985  and advertising guidelines.

 

  • To liase with government officers in 2 CBUs: AVA (Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority) and HPB (Health Promotion Board), MOH FSQD and MOH Nutrition.

Manages evolving regulatory environment through

  • monitoring international, local COE and regulatory developments;
  • Industry & / government bodies technical meeting; to formulate, propose and effectively communicate appropriate regulatory strategies to the regulators and industry members to influence and shape the regulatory environment.

 

  • Builds the positive perception of responsible & ethical marketing for the company and self; this includes an audit program to evaluate company’s compliance to COE.

Qualifications

  • Degree in nutrition and/or dietetics or relevant science field.
  • At least 10 years management experience in nutrition business or food industry (FMCG), preferably in the area of infant milk marketing and sales. Experience dealing with SFA/AVA and HPB would be a plus point.
  • Regulatory Expert- Good knowledge and experience with Sale of Infant Foods Ethics Committee of Singapore (SIFECS) Code of Ethics (COE), Sales of Foos Act (Chapter 283, Section 56 (1)) food regulation, Singapore advertising guidelines, Malaysia Code of Ethics for the marketing of infant foods and related products, Malaysia Food Act 1983 and Food regulation 1985, Codex Standards and Processes.
  • Others: Consumer, Advertising and Promotion Law & Regulations; Science Knowledge, Dispute resolution, Advocacy.
