About the Job

Danone Nutricia Early Life Nutrition is accelerating its international growth in the baby-food milk sector.In Haps (Nijmegen region) we are building a new Green Field Factory for spray drying of infant milks powder and specials. In this project, the Process Engineer works on the installation, testing end start up of the wet Process part together with the senior Process Engineer and MES Automation Engineer. This includes Dry ingredients handling, Wet phase including hydrolysis and UF process, evaporation and CIP.

This project is the largest project for the division in the coming 2 years.

 

The scope of the Process Engineer position starts from the raw material reception (powder or liquid) till the feeding tank for the spray drier and all what is in between: unloading and storage of liquid ingredients to dry ingredients handling, oil handling and mixing, recipes management, ingredients batch preparation, evaporator and DSI, CIP Kitchen and wet phase process CIP and the hydrolysis process.

 

Together with the project team, the Process Engineer needs to work closely together with the Senior Process Engineer for the spray drying part and the MES Automation Engineer in a joined effort to start up the plant. Of course together with the equipment supplier(s).
Overall the Process Engineer is responsible for guiding and leading the different phases to Production Qualification. The installation will be successfully hand over to the operational team. The main KPI's for this role are formulated around Safety, Quality, Costs, Delivery, Motivation of People and Environment.

These are the topics you will be working on:

  • Ensure safety through all the project phases for all;
  • Update and finalize the specifications for the process and associated utilities;
  • Implementation of Quality standards for processes and equipment;
  • Implementation of Danone Nutricia engineering standards;
  • Integration of lean design and performance as key target of the project;
  • Work closely with the other members of the engineering team and ensure connections, interfaces and interactions with all the other sections of the project;
  • Follow up the execution of the equipment works (including acceptance tests, regular visits);
  • Compliance with project budget and schedule;
  • Support, training and knowledge transfer to the future plant staff;
  • Coordinate all the suppliers involved in the scope;
  • Coordinate the qualification and validation tests (accountable for the wet phase scope);
  • Organize and realize the start up of all the process equipment (Wet phase scope);
  • Support the production team during the ramp up of the spray drier;
  • Compliance of the installations with FMG guidelines - Be the guardian that all FMG norms are followed;
  • Coordinate audits to have the finished and tested installation validated according to set safety requirements;
  • Smooth integration of utilities, civil works and equipment installation in the scope;
  • Ensure the as built documentation and manuals are delivered and transferred to the exploitation team.

 

You will report to the Start up Manager and work closely together with the other Process Engineers (Dry scope and Automation). The team is responsible for all the process equipment in the new factory.

 

Needed for success

We are looking for a Process Engineer with a "hands on" mentality. You have 3-5 years process engineering experience in baby food, dairy or food processing and a degree in food processing and/or engineering. Furthermore, you have very good communication and presentation skills and the ability to take ownership and deliver results. 

 

This role also requires:  

  • Experience in testing and starting up a dairy or baby food plant;
  • Ability to work in matrix organizations (project team / factory team);
  • Autonomous and organization capability;
  • Fluent in English and preferable fluent in Dutch.
