Danone North America is looking for a Maintenance Planner in Dallas.

 

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling maintenance programs and processes in the Plant to minimize impact on production. Evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders. Schedules maintenance staff. Plans for interruptions in work and develops backup plans.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Checking and inspecting all production machinery and engines in a unit.
  • Regular servicing and maintenance of all machinery and equipment and ensuring the proper functioning of the same.
  • Coordinating work with the production department and ensuring that all equipment and machinery are functioning to full capacity.
  • Leading a team of subordinates and delegating work areas to them.
  • Ensuring the proper usage of maintenance tools and equipment for repairs.
  • Following all safety regulations and norms of functioning.
  • Maintaining records of service cycles and other maintenance activities.
  • Planning maintenance and service procedures in a facility.
  • Organizing training activities for subordinates.
  • The Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling maintenance programs and processes in the Plant to minimize impact on production.
  • Besides currently developing a predictive maintenance program and establishing the current spare parts, preventative maintenance and work order programs.
  • Determine preventative maintenance requirements for equipment
  • Create preventative maintenance schedules for equipment
  • Evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders.
  • Schedules maintenance staff.
  • Work with maintenance management to schedule weekly and other periodic work
  • Create weekly work order report
  • Maintain maintenance work order database (CMMS)- create work orders, print and distribute new work orders, enter data for complete work orders
  • Plans for interruptions in work and develops backup plans.
  • Acquire spare parts and emergency parts
  • Research parts providers to acquire the most affordable and acceptable quality parts
  • Manage spare parts inventory, parts and spare equipment warehouse- heavy lifting required
  • Maintain maintenance shop supplies and oversee VMI items
  • Determine technical specifications of equipment and parts
  • Preparing and shipping items for repair – Fed-Ex, UPS, other trucking companies
  • Determine spare parts for new equipment
  • Coordinate disposal or sale of unwanted equipment
  • Schedule outside contractors for repairs or new projects
  • Schedule outside technicians for equipment repair and calibrations. 
  • Coordinate repairs and calibration with production schedule.
  • Schedule and coordinate onsite third party training
  • Schedule training and coordinate travel and boarding for offsite training 
  • Coordinate rental equipment
  • Assist mechanics to make repairs when needed- heavy lifting required
  • Research and acquire new equipment and tools
  • Design or draw parts or assemblies for obsolete equipment or new projects
  • Coordinate or request repairs with property manager
  • Coordinates with warehouse management to maintain warehouse facilities and equipment including forklifts, semi-trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, etc.

 

 

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Typically requires:  High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and plumbing systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or any other discipline with 2 – 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Work with purchasing and accounting to resolve clerical issues
  • Initiate capital expense projects, attend capital expense meetings and assist GL accountant with physical asset clerical management
  • Knowledge of BRC maintenance requirements and assist department to adhere to the requirements
  • Assist with BRC audit items, including BRC actions and issues items
  • Create procedure, inspection and other controlled documents
  • Assist other departments with maintenance and special technical projects
  • Coordinate with accounting to acquire water usage reports, analyze water usage data, create water use report to be submitted to city
