Mission of the Role
A varied and fast-paced role, leading a team of 3, you will be responsible for delivering the shopper marketing plan across all channels and customers for two well-known and trusted brands (Cow & Gate and Aptamil)
Working closely with our Senior Brand Managers across Consumer and Medical, you will influence and shape the marketing plans during the annual planning process. You will have ongoing ownership of the shopper marketing budget, taking responsibility for managing the spend and analysing the return on investment
You will also play a lead role in NPD project teams, allocating the appropriate resource from your team to represent the needs of the shopper and the retailer, across multiple channels and formats
You will lead the Customer planning day stories including the sell-in of NPD to retailers, creating compelling stories & selling materials, enabling the Commercial, Category and Shopper teams to deliver agreed levels of distribution
You will manage the launch of all NPD and the implementation of major range reviews at POP will lead shopper research to unlock shopper insights with the objective to empower the wider team to drive growth
Manage relationships with Shopper Marketing creative and media agencies and continuously optimise agency model


Key Challenges

Appropriately representing the needs of the shopper and the retailer in all our innovation (product, packaging, case size, etc.)
Combining this with continuous collaborative working with the Brand teams (consumer and medical) to ensure we consistently deliver communications with one voice
Creating an agenda for bespoke innovation/renovation in growth channels, such as convenience or online, in order to drive the future growth of our brands

Key Accountabilities
Team Coaching & Development:
     Managing and developing a team of 3 highly motivated Shopper Marketing Managers

Shopper Marketing:
     Responsibility for the shopper budget, ensuring effective return on investment and a strong plan across channels/customers/formats
     Analysing the effectiveness and return on investment of shopper marketing activities and shaping the plans accordingly

     Playing a leadership role in the project teams bringing new products to market, allocating and managing resource for these teams appropriately
     Owning the customer "sell-in" process from creating the story to the development of supporting materials and coordinating the wider Sales & Marketing teams

Excellent Execution:
     Ensuring the excellent execution of our NPD at point-of-purchase

Understanding of how to deliver great shopper communication for brands

Has an excellent understanding of shoppers and is able to fully represent the shopper and influence well in cross-functional forums

A strong leader, able to influence effectively

Passionate about people development

Able to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and juggle priorities, both external and internal

Is resilient and able to challenge and influence others

Experience Required

Experience of big brands and launching innovation in either a shopper or brand marketing role

Experience of managing a small team is desirable
