Danone North America is looking for a Cook in Carmel.

 

 

The Organic Cook is Responsible for the preparation of soups, grain and bean salads, roasting meats, entree foods packaged to go in our certified Organic Kitchen. This role reports directly to the Lead Cook and will assist in the cooking for the Earthbound Farm- Farm Stand’s products.

 

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the preparation of soups, grain and bean salads, roasting meats, entree foods packaged to go
  • Ensures all recipes are correct and followed
  • Maintain inventory and order food items on a daily basis
  • Ensures freshness and food safety
  • Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area; Follow cleaning routines and sanitation standards
  • Assembles supplies and equipment needed for daily cooking activities
  • Assists Lead Cook in keeping records of receiving, inventory, and production to maintain CCOF requirements of organic standards
  • Assists in catering and special events as required. 
  • Other projects as assigned by management.

 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years’ cooking experience in restaurant or other production facility

  • Culinary school preferred
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-10 hour shifts
  • Knowledge of food preparation methods, techniques, and quality standards
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of standard kitchen equipment and its use
  • Able to consistently follow recipes, able to place orders with purveyors
  • Fast and flexible learner—able to absorb different menus and follow new recipes
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Food Service Sanitation Standards; ServSafe Manager Safety certified is required
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Professional level oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Able to manage a diverse work force and build a highly effective team
  • Solid organization and planning skills with strong detail orientation
