Danone North America is looking for a Director - Internal Communications in Broomfield or White Plains.

The Director, Internal Communications plays a critical role in communicating the business strategies of the enterprise, promoting the brands, driving the alignment of values and behaviors the company and engaging employees across the region. The Director, Internal Communications is adept with written, verbal and digital communications across multiple channels and is able to counsel and advise leaders on confidential communications programs and topics involving a global, publicly held corporation.


We are seeking a strong leader who can excel in an agile, dynamic, fast-paced, global environment. This leader will partner with colleagues in the North America region and Europe with minimal supervision. Initiative, creativity, collaboration and strategy are requirements of this role, while driving positive business results.


Key Responsibilities:

1. STRATEGY. Develops and executes comprehensive and strategic communication plan
2. EXECUTIVES. Advises and develops communications programs for executive leadership (regional and functional leaders), to customize the organization's keys priorities and business objectives
3. RELATIONSHIPS. Develops relationships at all levels of the organization, including members of the DNALT, leaders of the Communications & Community Affairs, Global Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Research and Innovation and others.
4. RESOURCE. Serves as a key contact to members of the leadership team who are seeking information about the company and/or its brands and its strategic direction.
5. CHANNELS. Implements internal communications programs across the region to drive engagement and understanding leveraging multiple channels. 
6. ALLIANCES. Work closely with our Human Resources, Supply Chain, Research & Innovation, Legal and Quality to integrate and key initiatives throughout the enterprise.
7. ENGAGEMENT. Create and implement communication strategies to helping teams and leaders realize key business strategies and initiatives and build employee engagement.
8. NEWS AND INFORMATON. Serve as the conduit to share company news, information, announcements, events and meetings related to corporate development, quarterly financial results, change communications (e.g. internal integration of new businesses; major organizational announcements), and ongoing employee communication/culture building activities.
9. TEAM BUILDING. Has a proven ability to lead and manage a team and develop communications content (print, broadcast, digital) from concept through execution, including, but not limited to company town halls, leadership meetings, website and social media content, executive presentations/speeches, talking points and memos. 


Experience and Education:

• Bachelor's degree required with preference for degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communication or a related field. Graduate school, appreciated.
• Miinimum of 10 years of increasingly responsibilities in business experience and a proven track record of success in corporate communication, public relations, employee communications, internal and external communications (in either in a corporate or agency setting).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills from concept to completion, including message development, understanding of key stakeholders, and the creation, editing and tailoring of compelling communications for a variety of channels, including traditional and social/new media. Proficiency using AP Style.
• A background in the food, retail or consumer package goods industry is a strong plus. Experience with manufacturing-based companies and/or companies with geographically and functionally diverse operations are beneficial.


• Strong written and verbal communications skills; proficiency with digital; excellent editorial skills.
• Strong strategic and critical thinking skills and ability to convey strategy effectively to colleagues, superiors and leadership.

• Understands a variety of key audiences and how to develop and direct key messages toward them.

• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues of all levels and build cross-functional relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in a fast-past, highly dynamic business environment with competing priorities.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive and/or material information.
• Able to make informed judgments and work under strict deadlines.
