Danone North America is looking for a Shipping Clerk in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

 

This position is responsible effectively interacting on a timely basis, via appropriate communication media, with our customers/employees and maintain a thorough knowledge of the SAP operating system. Function in a liaison capacity and provide outstanding customer service. 
 

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday,Tuesday 6a-430p

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Check drivers in, verify necessary documents
  • Distribute loads to the floor/forklift operators
  • Monitor carrier delivery and pick up times
  • Update daily loading schedule as it relates to dock appointment times
  • Print BOL, check drivers out verify documents
  • Review orders/shipments from previous day to validate carrier pick up
  • Ensure paperwork completed timely and accurately
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

 

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • High School diploma or GED required; one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Office machinery including: computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, stand up forklift etc. 
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Outlook)
  • Warehouse Management Software (SAP, Generix, High Jump, Manhattan etc.)
  • Customer Service: communicating professionally with internal and external customers
  • Scheduling in a warehouse, logistics or other applicable environment

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 

Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to hear and perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Ability to effectively communicate via email and phone providing clear instructions.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

 

Must have the ability to apply commonsense and understanding when carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Must have the ability to prioritize and organize.

 

Must have the ability to demonstrate superb decision-making skills to determine the best course of action when performing the responsibilities of the job

 

Must demonstrate the ability to identify potential challenges with the process and when to notify the chain of command to prevent process failures
