Danone Canada is looking for a Production Planner - Danone Canada in Boucherville.

 

The production planner takes the master plan and turns it into a detailed production plan. They plan and oversee needs for all production lines and update priorities. The production planner oversees the movement of finished products between our main warehouse and secondary warehouses by carrying out administrative and manual work that coordinates the movement of inventory. They also coordinate Co-Packing activities in relation to sales forecasts. Finally, they plan production and lead Co-Manufacturing plants in Canada and the United States.

 

In particular, the Production Planner:

  • Plans, organizes, oversees and ensures monitoring for the production of finished products based on sales forecasts, in order to maintain:
    •  The CSL (Customer Service Level) in line with Supply objectives for all distribution centres 
    •  The FGL (Finish Good Losses) at the levels established by Supply objectives
  • Applies established directives to the production plan, such as: proportion of workforce used, inventory level targets, maintenance plan and precautionary stoppages
  • Uses available capacity so as to minimize operating costs
  • Plans semi-finished product requirements
  • Provides the Procurement service with the information needed for raw material acquisition
  • Communicates to all relevant services the current planning for operations in their department
  • Communicates information regarding the availability of and potential shortages for finished products
  • Manages and monitors short-dated products with the service provider
  • Ensures reports are produced for tracking KPIs
  • Trains employees as needed
  • Plans and coordinates the procurement of products that are manufactured and/or overwrapped by our providers according to demand
  • Plans merchandise transfers from the main warehouse to other distribution centres
  • Plans merchandise transfers between our providers’ warehouses and the main warehouse
  • Uses the services of carriers as effectively as possible and in a way that meets departmental objectives
  • Plans, organizes, oversees and ensures monitoring for the production of finished products from other production centres
  • Reconciles invoices from our Co-Manufacturers (WebEx)
  • Communicates availabilities and potential shortages in our secondary warehouses
  • Generates operational reports for the department as needed (Sales to date / Shortages communication report)
  • Trains employees as needed
  • Performs all other tasks requested by immediate superior
  • Plans product requirements for external plants
  • Motivates performance for all Co-Manufacturing plants (achievement level)
  • Participates in meetings that aid with understanding planning requirements
  • Ensures the transfer of products from Co-Manufacturing plants to Boucherville and tracks transfers

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Diploma related to production management (university certificate, D.E.C., CPIM certificate, bachelor’s degree)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production planning position
  • Good knowledge of English a necessity, must be verified by a test
  • Good knowledge of Excel verified by a test
  • Knowledge of microprocessing
