POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Regulatory Associate Manager helps drive growth and ensure sustainability by, among other things: ensuring compliant products and marketing; identifying and driving strategies to mitigate potential regulatory risk; and working closely with cross functional partners to ensure the timely launch of products. Must have demonstrated proficiency to interpret food labeling regulations and laws and identify viable creative solutions to support innovation and growth.

The position requires significant self-direction, and work with partners and team members within the Happy Family business, as well as with the broader Regulatory team throughout the US and globally.

• Manages the creation of nutrition information (i.e. nutrition facts panels, ingredient declarations, etc) and provides regulatory guidance as it pertains to new and reformulated product concepts.
• Provide consumer-facing label reviews and guide internal teams on labeling, advertising, and other applicable materials through knowledge of FDA regulations, certification needs (such as Non-GMO, Kosher, and Organic), and the current regulatory landscape.
• Approve raw material and finished goods specifications
• Interpret US and international regulations for foods and supplements to ensure regulatory compliance
• Review and approve packaging, advertising, website and communication materials
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to validate product composition.
• Support the launch of new products by reviewing new product briefing documents, portfolio review, and working with packaging team to ensure compliance of all product labeling.
• Collaborate with product developers to evaluate supplier data for new or novel ingredients
• Monitor food labeling regulatory activity; assess business opportunities and impact to brands

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Food Science, or related scientific field;
• 3 years of experience in a Regulatory Compliance (food labeling) role with a CPG food manufacturer;
• Demonstrated proficiency to interpret U.S. food regulations and strong ability to navigate international labeling regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to handle complexity, multiple projects and requests, and short timelines
• Self-directed with ability to bring projects to completion
• Strategic thinker with good judgment, decisiveness, and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented, accurate and excellent record keeping skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity and problem solving
• Strong written and oral communication skills
