Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Due to our current Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager heading on maternity leave, we have a 12-month fixed term contract available. In this dynamic and varied role, you will be the trusted advisor for all things regulations based, ensuring that we are compliant at all times.


Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Champion regulatory affairs field of activity agenda internally, with a focus on technical expertise in the regulatory space – including regulatory claims validation (CVM) of all collateral from Marketing, Sales, Health Care Nutrition, Quality and R&I in relation to food standards and Codes of Practice, product composition/labelling, import/export standards and championing awareness of category compliance
  • Support General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel in coordinating responses to complaints from competitors or NZ Complaints Panel as well as engagement with key government agencies and industry associations as needed
  • Educate and promote regulatory compliance with staff, and specifically with marketing, healthcare nutrition, Research & Innovation and sales teams
  • Develop strong and meaningful working relationships with key stakeholders across the business including those in the same location and remotely, establishing the reputation of being the subject matter expert with regulations
  • Whilst working in a relatively autonomous role, add value to your General Secretary team, comprising the Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance and Corporate Affairs functions, contribute to annual plans and work with the wider General Secretary team to achieve goals



With a wealth of knowledge in the regulatory affairs industry, focusing on health and nutrition, you will be a team player who thrives on achieving results. A natural multi-tasker, you will be able to manage conflicting priorities whist never compromising the service level provided to our stakeholders.


Ideally you will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working within a regulatory affairs role
  • Tertiary- level education in either food science or nutrition
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the food standards code and regulations as well as the broader New Zealand regulatory landscape
  • Excellent communication skills, with a passion for people
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task
